The Asymmetry of Nature

Nature is asymmetrical. Have you seen a mountain which is same on all sides – a perfect cone? Have you seen a river which flows in a straight line? Or a perfectly symmetric tree?

The earth is tilted to one side and revolves around the sun in an elliptical motion. Had it been vertical and revolving in a circle we would not experience seasons and we would not have the beauty of having summer during summers in certain parts of the world. The asymmetry is what brings dynamism.  Nature is dynamic and it keeps changing itself. Symmetry results in a static world. That is why most natural things are asymmetric. Nature has its own way to decide between symmetry and asymmetry.

Yet we strive for symmetry and why is it so? Symmetry is the property of the logical and scientific mind. A logical mind strives for perfection. Perfection leads to constant and constant is static. No amount of evolution can happen with a static because any change requires dynamism. When the mind is illogical can evolution happen. All innovations happen with an illogical mind specially at the level of hypothesis. It is only when the hypothesis is tested on experimentations does the logical mind takes control of the invention and the world recognizes it as a scientific discovery or an invention.

This is what we mean when we talk about “Eureka” moment.

There are several concepts which are yet not proven scientifically and yet they exist as if they are laws. The behavior of the sub-conscious mind is one such phenomenon. In fact, there has been no device discovered which can see the sub-conscious or the conscious mind forget about locating it in the part of the body. When we can see through scientific devices is the brain and the nervous system. But is that the mind? We cannot be so sure.

The Hindu model of Universe explains these concepts wonderfully and is captured beatifically by our ancient sages in Sankhya Darshan (Indian Metaphysics). Everything in Indian philosophy finds its roots in metaphysics.

Fortunately, there is a renewed interest in metaphysics and a lot of work is happening. Many concepts and processes which were not possible to be explained through conventional science are now being explained through metaphysics.

I believe Vastu and Astrology are two important pillars of metaphysics and with time these will be brought into the realm of science once they are fully explained using metaphysics

Astro-Numero analysis of PV Sindhu’s Signature

Before going to the numerology of PV Sindhu let us analyze her signature. As can be seen from the sign they are completely illegible. Unless you know that these signatures belong to her, you will not be able to make out what she has written while signing. Small letters (specially ‘n’) and illegible signatures are two distinct features in the signature.

Small letters signify Saturn and illegible writing symbolizes Rahu. Numerologically, Rahu is represented by Number 4 and Saturn by number 8. The third planet which is predominant in her signature is Jupiter seen by the large “S” at the start of her signature.

Rahu represents attention and Saturn represents focus, hard work and commitment, two features which makes her tick in her game. Focus allows her to make a comeback in the sets. She is a great fighter who believes in herself. She dreams big.

We do not have a reliable source on her time of birth, we only have her date of birth as it appears on
Wikipedia, - 5-July-1995. As per this her birth number is 5 and life path number is 9.

Before we get into further numerological study for her let us see few facts
  1. She broke into the Top 20 of World rankings when she was 17 years old (1+7=8)
  2. In 2015 she received “Padma Shri” (2+0+1+5=8)
  3. She reached highest ranking of “2nd Seed” on 4-April-2017
  4. In 2008, a correspondent in “The Hindu” wrote – “The fact that she reports on time at the coaching camps daily, travelling a distance of 56 km from her residence, is perhaps a reflection of her willingness to complete her desire to be a good badminton player with the required hard work and commitment.” – a clear property of Saturn personality

Now as per her birth day we see that her birth number is 5 and life path number is 9 while numbers 4 and 8 are frequently reflected in her life. Why is that so?

As per the numerology we practice, we have found that if the birth of the individual is before sunrise and after midnight e.g. 12:30 AM, 4:45 AM, etc. the birth number should be of the previous day. Please note that I am guessing that she was born in the wee hours of 5th July 1995 and so taking 4-7-1995 as her date of birth the numbers 4 and 8 fall into place.

Plant trees in your house as per Vastu

Several people ask me what trees can be planted in the courtyard of home. I researched to know what does the scriptures say.

Matasya Puran in Chapter 255  answers this question as follows:

One should plant Bargad (Banyan) tree in East, gular tree/atti tree (cluster fig) in South, Peepal in West and Pakad tree in North.

In case these trees are planted in wrong directions and it is not possible to cut them you should plant one or more of the following trees to gain overall prosperity and harmony

Ashoka tree (this is not Polyalthia longifolia which the nursery will try to sell you as Ashoka, ask them for original ashoka tree), Moulsari/Bakul, Pomegranade, kewda, chameli, coconut tree, banana tree, chameli tree and Champa (Plumeria).

Planting these trees will bring in overall prosperity and balance in your life.

In case the trees are planted wrongly for example if bargad is in North in place of East, plant one or more of the following trees along with bargad to bring in overall success.

1. Ashoka
2. Moulashri/Bakul
3. Pomegranade
4. Kewda
5. Banana /Kela
6. Chameli
7. Champa

A note on Ashoka tree and False Ashoka tree - . Ashoka trees are small in height, while false ashoka is taller.

Ashoka flowers are red (initially orange in color) while False Ashoka flowers are apple green in color. Ashoka fruits look like broad beans containing multiple seeds while false ashoka fruits are small, spherical and contain only one seed

How Planets reflect in body shape and expressions?

When I saw Ishant Sharma celebrating after taking the prize wicket of Charles in the India-West Indies match held on July 5, 2013 it reminded me of a roaring lion as you can see in the image above. Suddenly, as per the Numerology learning from my guru, it stuck me that Ishant Sharma must be having one of his numero-trident based on Sun. I immediately looked up in Wikipedia for his birth day which I found is September 2, 1988. His supporting number comes out to 1 and his mental power is 2. As can also be seen in the picture below he wears a jersey with a number 1 and his signatures reflect the number 2 (Moon).

For me it was an interesting observation which reinforces my understanding of numerology and a practical application of “observation” helping in correlating numerology with body shape and expressions. Ishant Sharma is an embodiment of number 1 from his appearance – he is lean, tall and lanky.

If a number (or its associated planet) is clearly visible in a persona either through face, body, hair, eyes, walk, hand writing then strengthening that number through numerology will increase the positive attributes associated with that number and benefit the person.

What should be the height of Pooja Deities (Home Altar)?

This is a common question which keeps bothering us as most of the times we do not find anyone who can give a proper answer to it.

During my last Vastu related visit to Chennai, I had the good fortune to visit Mahabalipuram, the town of great sculptors and meet Sthapati R. Ravindran who has to his credit sculpted several deities in temples across South East Asia.

During the interactions someone asked him about the size of the statue of Gods we place in the home altar (Pooja room).

He said, “As per Vedic texts, when you place an idol at home for worship, it should not be more than the size of one mushti.” He further explained that the pedestal and crown of the deity is not to be considered.”

One mushti is the the length including the width of the palm and the length of the thumb fully extended (This is shown in the figure attached).

Any idol which is bigger than the mushti as explained above should be placed in a proper temple and not at homes.

Kitchen Stove and Kitchen sink should not be together || Vastu Myth

There are several myths when we talk about Vastu. While they do not have any relationship with Vastu they have become prevalent because someone who first thought of it, created a logical explanation and wrote in a book. We all want free and easy knowledge and so many people follow it blindly without bothering whether it is vastu or feng shui or a figment of someone’s imagination.

In this post I will write about one very prevalent myth.

One of the myths in Vastu is that kitchen sink and kitchen stove should not be together especially when it is a one-wall kitchen. The logic given is that fire and water are together so it is not advisable. Several tools are designed by marketers to nullify the effect even when there is no effect.

First Kitchen sink is not water but an activity of disposal and cleaning. Even here we are not disposing the waste from our kitchen but just cleaning the utensils. The leftover food is often thrown in the dust-bin. So kitchen sink is just a place where cleaning is performed and is not even a place of disposal.

Thousands of case studies by Mahavastu experts under the leadership of Vastu Shastri Khushdeep Bansal have concluded that location of kitchen sink does not have any impact on the Vastu of the place. In a Kitchen the location of the kitchen stove, dustbin and refrigerator are on relevant as per Mahavastu.

So do not fret if your kitchen is such that the two are together. Look for real problems which you are facing and life and ask a Vastu expert to solve them. That is the only benefit of vastu – resolution of your life problems all else is superstition.

The Power of Trust

In Vrindavan, where Lord Krishna was born, there stayed a shepherdess who used to go to Mathura every day to sell milk and curd. Once a saint visited her village and she went to listen to his sermons. The Saint was telling a story and she got hooked to it. The saint was telling that there is a lot of power in the name of God and just by reciting the same great troubles can be surmounted. Just by reciting His name even a whirlpool can be crossed. If you have to cross a whirlpool in life never leave the name of God.

Next day she again went to sell milk to Mathura. On the way she had to cross the holy river Yamuna. Earlier she used to hire a boat to cross the river. This day she thought if the name of God can help you cross a whirlpool, I can definitely cross this river. Thus she silently recited the name of Lord Krishna and started moving forward. Truly she found herself walking on the river as if she is walking on a smooth road.

She started using this method every day and in her heart she used to thank the saint for sharing this mantra. One day she thought that she should invite the saint for lunch since he has done so much for her. So she goes to his residence in Mathura and invites her. The saint accepts and accompanies her to her village.

On reaching the banks of the river the saint starts calling the boatman. The shepherdess is surprised and she asks him, “Why do we need a boat when we can cross the Yamuna walking on it?”

“What are you saying young lady? How can we walk on Yamuna?”

“O Great man, you were the one who taught me this method. I just recite His name and walk on the river.”

The saint could not believe it so he asks the lady to first walk on Yamuna and he will follow her. She recites the name of God and starts walking. The saint follows but as soon he puts his foot on water he falls down. The shepherdess realizes that the saint has fallen in water. She comes back and holds his hands. With her support he too starts walking on Yamuna. Soon they reach the other side.

The saint falls to her feet and says, “I have been professing the importance of the name of God and to use it as a source of hope but it is you who has truly done that. You are a great soul.”

This story has been in circulation in Hindi on WhatsApp groups. My question to all my readers is “What is the relevance of this in Vastu as a Vatu practitioner and as a Vastu client?” I look forward to your comments below

How to spot Poverty Consciousness Part 3

A friend accompanied me to a famous temple in Indore. After performing the Pooja I donated a small amount in the DaanPeti placed in the Mandir.

Seeing me he said, “You know God does not need your money and if he needs He is not God.”

“Yes I know that He does not need money but he definitely want me to share.”

“If you want to share, why don’t you share with poor?” He argued. I got really annoyed.

“Is that what you do? When did you last donate to poor?” I asked.

He kept quiet and started looking elsewhere.

This is the state of affairs with many people. When it comes to donate in a temple they say it is better
to donate to poor and when it comes to donating to poor they will come up with newer excuses – “It is all a mafia”, ‘why can’t he work?”, ‘Did you see that child in the arm of the woman was sleeping? Why are they always sleeping? You know they are drugged.” These are the responses you get for not sharing their money with poor.

In Christianity there is a concept of tithing where good Christians are encouraged to donate ten percent of their income to the church. The church then uses it for community good. A similar concept exists in Islam. Unfortunately the majority community in India does not practice any such thing. If any religious guru suggests such a thing we all will troll him on social media, main stream media and maybe on the roads too. He will be labelled to be regressive. Why? Just because we want excuses for not giving.

The act of giving is a sure sign of prosperity consciousness. By giving you are sending the message that I have abundant money and I am willing to share. The universe then gives you more such that you can share more.

By making excuses and justifying your “non-sharing” behavior you are actually telling the universe that you are living in scarcity and not having any intention to partake with what you have. My guru says it is better to give food to poor rather than money but give you should.

How to Spot Poverty Consciousness? Part 2

Once you recognize the symptoms of poverty consciousness and realize that you are demonstrating those symptoms it becomes very easy to get rid of them and move towards prosperity consciousness.

Most of the people in this world when they stay in a hotel stuff the toothpaste, lotions, and shampoos in their bags before check out. This does not happen only with people from a particular country but is a global phenomenon. A survey was conducted internationally and hotel owners from Europe and Americas have reported that their guests have robbed them with mattresses, televisions, iron, electric kettles, paintings, etc. I was really surprised when I read it. I mean how guests can take away mattresses without the hotel knowing about it. But believe it or not this is the truth.

Why do people behave this way? The reason is simple, they want to maximize on the tariffs they have paid to the hotel. In their minds this is just value for money or worse still they feel that the hotel is anyways running on huge profits which itself is a crime and robbing them of whatever they can is a way to get back to them for their crimes (profits). Very few people realize that most big hotels operate at wafer thin margins and even if they do earn good profits it is the fruit of the huge investments they have made.

The fact is that this behavior stems out of poverty consciousness. How can someone who does not appreciate other person’s wealth and profit be able to generate the same for oneself?
The other reason is the mindset of scarcity. What if we go to a hotel in future where they do not furnish a soap in the bathrooms? We should stuff this in the bags for such situations.

I know it is a touchy subject but if you display such behavior just recognize it as that of poverty consciousness. This acceptance in itself will move you towards prosperity consciousness.

I invite your views on this article in the comments section of this post.

How to spot poverty consciousness? Part 1

Just the awareness of the behavior which stems out of poverty consciousness is helpful in coming out of it. I have observed and introspected during my daily meditations and have come up with some sure signs of poverty consciousness. When reading them you may find it difficult to accept but if you meditate on it for 10-15 minutes you will understand it.

Observe people buying fruits and vegetables from road side. They must have stopped their sedan to shop but they will haggle with the vendor endlessly to save ten rupees. If you ask them they will say, “पैसे क्या पेड़ पे उगते हैं? (Money does not grow on trees)” or “वाह साहब खून पसीने की कमाई है, ऐसे कैसे लुटा दें (It is our hard earned money. We can’t just blow them away).” Now observe the same people shopping in a mall. Not only they will buy at the quoted price they will also pay taxes on it to be contended that they bought from a branded retail.

Most of the people buy diyas during Diwali from roadside. Small kids are seen selling diyas and well to do people negotiate endlessly for reduction in prices. The vendor here is more worried about the food he will eat in the evening and less on profit and so he sells at whatever price the buyer is willing to pay and the buyer returns to his home contented that he ensured that he is not duped.

Negotiation is not bad, but putting all your energies in negotiations (that is what is called haggling) and making it an ego issue is a sign of poverty consciousness.

My guru says, “कभी जानबूझकर बेवकूफ बन जाओ, फिर देखो समृद्धि कैसे दौड़ कर आपके पास आती है.” Sometimes, be fooled knowingly and see how prosperity rushes towards you.

Prosperity Consciousness is the domain of subconscious

It can get very confusing with so many consciousness and conscious coming in this article so please read it carefully.

As is evident from the word itself consciousness resides in conscious. But we have two parts of the mind – conscious mind and subconscious mind, so where does the consciousness reside? The answer is that it resides in both and that is the cause of complications – loads of them.

There can be four combinations due to the two minds; both conscious and subconscious are filled with same consciousness – prosperity or poverty, the conscious mind is filled with poverty consciousness and the subconscious with prosperity consciousness and vice versa.

When the conscious mind is suffering from poverty consciousness and the subconscious has prosperity consciousness the person will eventually have its conscious mind superseded by the consciousness of the subconscious. When the conscious mind and subconscious are both entrapped in poverty consciousness the person becomes a miser.

Now imagine having a situation where the conscious mind is prosperity conscious and the subconscious is poverty conscious, isn’t it a deadly combination? The person is sure to get into abject poverty. The conscious mind will make him behave like a prosperous person while the subconscious mind will prevent him to increase his income. Such person get entrapped in a lot of personal loans and bad debts and in some cases they have to either run away from their place of residence to avoid debtors or have to declare bankruptcy.

When I say that 90% of the people suffer from poverty consciousness, few people believe it. The problem is that most of the times the person does not know what his subconscious think about prosperity.

In the next posts I will write about the behaviors of poverty consciousness people. Stay tuned.

How to determine the facing of the house?

A lady in Gurgaon called me one day. They were buying a new apartment and she was unsure because she determined that the entrance is south facing while the owner was saying that the entrance is North Facing. She was totally confused.

“Manoj ji, when I enter the house with a compass in hand the compass shows South in front of me. This means that the house is South facing. Correct?”

Before I could say anything she continued, “The owner is telling that I am measuring it wrong and I should stand on the door and face outside while determine the facing of the apartment. Is that correct?”

“The owner is right Madam.” I explained, “You should determine the facing of the house when you are going out from the house and not when you are coming in.”

This is a very common mistake made by people and can make the whole vastu analysis wrong. When Vastu audit is done remotely the consultant is dependent on the client to give him the directions.
Stand with the compass in hand at the main entry of the house and facing outside. See what the direction in front of you is. That is the direction your house faces.

This is illustrated by three diagrams

1.      Figure 1 shows the correct method of measurement
2.      Figure 2 shows the wrong method of measurement
3.      Figure 3 shows the correct method from a different perspective

Hope it brings clarity. If it does not please comment on where there is confusion and I will try to explain it in a better manner.

Can destiny be changed by Vastu? || Part 1

We,  my friend and I were travelling in a coach from Khandala to Mumbai one day and we started getting talking. He knows I work on Vastu and Astrology and he was narrating his own experiences with astrology. Suddenly he raises his hand and shows a vertical line on the mount of Jupiter and says, “One astrologer has told me that since this line has crossed the third phalange of the middle finger I will never be able to accumulate wealth.”

“That’s all non-sense.” I immediately reacted.

“But it is true. I have never been able to save money.”

“All this can be changed, my dear and I can help you change it.”

“How?”

“See destiny is like the default programming of the mobile phone. This is what my guru always tell. When you first turn it on it is completely functional and many people do not change any default setting of their phones.  Some people however do not like the ring tone, message tone, whats app notification and change them. That is what we call configuration.”

“Yes I understand.”

“Similarly we are born with a default programming what is called destiny and just like a mobile phone we can customize it by simple techniques. Let me share them with you.”
