Vastu Case Study || Arjuna’s focus

I got a call from my friend in Australia. He sounded worried. His son who has completed his graduate program was now trying to bootstrap a venture. Only problem is that he is unable to decide on the business idea to pursue.

“He talks about setting up an apparel business and after working for few months he starts talking about immigration consultancy. In the last year he has shifted gears thrice. He just doesn’t have focus.” He said.

“Like all modern parents, I do not want to impose my thoughts on him. I just want him to focus on one thing and pursue it to its completion. I have already agreed with him to provide him the seed money and support him till he builds sufficient traction.” He continued.

I started wondering what can be done in vastu to increase focus. The first thing came to my mind was “अर्जुन की आँख.” All Indians grow up listening the story of Arjuna.

Once, during archery training, Arjuna’s teacher Drona pointed to bird on the branch of a tree and instructed him and his brothers to aim for its eye. ‘Describe what you see,’ asked the teacher. ‘A bird on the branch of the tree,’ said Yudhishtira, his eldest brother. ‘A bird on the branch of a mango tree,’ said Bhima, his elder brother. ‘A bird on the branch of a mango tree that stands in front of a banyan tree,’ said Duryodhana, his cousin, the eldest of the Kauravas. Arjuna only said, ‘I see only the eye of the bird, nothing else.’ Drona ordered his students to release their arrows. Only Arjuna’s struck the target!

Arjuna is the true epitome of focus and so can become a potent symbol to increase focus.

The next question was which mahavastu zone to activate using this symbol. I thought since one should venture into a business domain where one has core competence we should focus on the mahavastu zone of skills to increase focus on his core competence.

I asked him to put an image of Arjuna in South west and observe the change in behavior in his son. Sure enough he informed me later that his son has successfully started an app-based information security business.

Vastu Case Study || Fiery Temper

We were visiting a friend’s house during Diwali. While we were talking their children were in their room watching TV.  In between their son came to the drawing room and started picking food items from the plate from which we were munching snacks. After eating few he started filling the snacks in his pocket. Both I and my wife were smiling with his act but his mother got annoyed. She admonished him by just a glare and a loud, “Rohit”.

He stormed out of the room with clenched jaws. A little while later we heard a vailing sound from the children’s room and the
lady of the house rushed to see what has happened.

Apparently Rohit had beaten up his little sister over something and she has been crying inconsolably.

My friend’s wife explained us that their son has fits of uncontrolled anger which fires up when he is stopped from doing what he wants. They keep getting complains from the school as well for he beats up and shouts at his class mates every now and then.

I suggested that I have a look at their house from a Vastu perspective for which they readily agreed. The whole area of South to South East had a wall painted red. A quick mental calculations revealed that this space is also more in carpet area as compared to the rest of their apartment. A painting showing the front view of a growling tiger was installed on the North-East wall.

I suggested them to change the color of the wall, re-locate the painting and share the results. When I next met them on New Year ’s Eve, they were delighted to report that there has been a tremendous improvement in their son’s behavior both in school and at home.

Kamdhenu for Wish Fulfillment

One of the most potent Mahavastu symbol is the Kamdhenu Cow. When placed in the zone of Anxiety and Churning it results in fruitful outcomes in your life.

Kamdhenu appears in Indian mythology at two places, once as an outcome of the churning of ocean where it was one of the first of the various gems that came out of the exercise. It also appears in the story of Sage Vishwamitra where she helps Sage Vashistha in fulfillment of his desires and objectives.

Both these stories are symbolic in the sense that these phenomenon happen in the human mind all the time.

A person is generally anxious about attaining of objectives and desires hence we can say that anxiety and churning are functions of the human mind.  If they result in fruitful outcome they are good for the human being if they do not they cause stress related disorders in one’s life.

Kamdhenu cow when placed in the MahaVastu zone of anxiety – the angular area between east and south-east helps in converting this churning into positive outcome. This is the same zone which is mentioned in Vishwakarma Prakash as the area where curd should be churned to produce butter. Butter is the fruitful outcome of churning and this activity is also symbolizing wish fulfillment.

How Vastu Symbols work?

In Mahavastu we use several symbols to program the space for a purpose. These we call as Vastu programming remedies. They vary from brass statues of nandi bull, Kubera, eagle, lion, kamdhenu, Sun, rabbits, etc or polyresin figurines of horses, wood figurines of elephants and ashoka stambh.

These symbols are called programming symbols because they communicate with the universe which communicates using symbols. You can also say that these symbols program the space as well as the sub-conscious and hence can also be called the symbols of the famous law of attraction. Since symbols are a language, you should use symbols from your own culture. For example, a Garuda statue of Nepal and Tibet will be different than that in India

MahaVastu symbols can be applied after the space is balanced as per the five elements and the earth energies are harmonized. Once this is done the symbols work like magic.

Please note that vastu symbols are not necessarily religious symbols and so there is no need to worship them daily. They start working for you as soon as they are placed.

Vastu Myth || Bedroom should not be above kitchen

In India, there is a prevalent myth that one should not have a bedroom above the kitchen. This is considered to be a strict no as per vastu.

Let me assure you that this is totally a myth which has no relevance to vastu. My guru, Dr. Khushdeep Bansal, who is the world’s leading authority in Vastu, has taught a very simple principle for identifying such myths. He says, “Whatever works anywhere in the world will also work in India.” For example, in West, most countries have houses which have bedrooms on top of kitchen and does not effect the inhabitants negatively.

If people living in Americas or Europe prosper well in such houses people in India can also prosper as well. Vastuwise too, the elemental balance on each floor has to be maintained individually and as long as the kitchen and bedroom are in the right vastu zones they will not create an imbalance for the residents even if one is top of another.

Vastu CaseStudy || Expressionless to Expression Full

A couple contacted me with their problem; their son was unable to express properly and cultivate friendship in school. His teacher always used to say during the PTA, that he stays quite during the class and doesn’t talk. He was already in Class XII and his parents were worried that this will cause problem in his college studies and career.

Now who is the epitome of expression in India? Lord Krishna. Isn’t he? And what is the tool he uses to express himself? Flute.

So I advised them to install a picture of Lord Krishna playing flute in the zone of fun and entertainment. I told them to identify a wall in the angular area between North-East and East where the picture can be installed and go ahead and do it.

Since observable change in such a problem takes some time to be realized, within six months they informed me with joy that their son is now participating in extracurricular activities in school and now has a small network of close friends with whom he enjoys free periods in the school.

A year later they were delighted that he is having a great time with friends in college.

Vastu CaseStudy || Chronic Cough Cured

Objects placed in different vastu zones effect the inhabitants of the space in different ways. Each object can be classified into one of the five element and placement or installation of an object at a particular place immediately results in the elemental balance cycle come in play.

It is possible that they automatically get balanced due to incidental selection of colors and other objects but when they case imbalance they manifest as symptoms in the residents of the space.

A lady called me in despair from Jaipur. About three years back they had consulted me. She told me that everything is well on the finance front but suddenly since last monsoon her husband is suffering from cough and it is not getting cured.

I explained her that Vastu cannot be used as a replacement to medical advice and enquired what the doctor’s opinion is.

She informed that though all possible pathological tests have been performed the doctors have not been able to diagnose the cause of cough. The doctors could only say that there is some congestion in the chest which is not getting cleared despite the continued medication.

I asked her if some changes have been done since I visited three years ago.

“No, we did not make any change?” she replied.

My next question was more specific, “Have you installed a new AC between west and south-west?”

“Yes we bought a new split AC last year for the kids replacing the window AC. Since they wanted the air flow to come to them from front we have installed it towards wes
t.”

Bingo.. That was the imbalance which needed correction. I asked her to apply a simple remedy on the AC and also get it serviced and cleaned. Within a fortnight her husband was cured of chest congestion.
