Vastu Myth || Main Door should be facing North East

It is well known that North and East are the two favored directions for those who follow Vastu and many of its followers look for a house which is North or East facing. So much so that South facing plots in a colony are sold at a discount. First of all, this itself is a myth. You can make a vastu compliant house even if it faces West or South. In fact, many of the successful people in this world have their houses facing South.

From the above another myth has evolved – that the main door of the house should be facing North-East – the diagonal direction between North and East. Either this is propagated because North East is considered to be direction of divine energies or a simple extrapolation that as North and East are both auspicious so North-East will be double auspicious as it contains both direction. Whatever, be the reason this is a totally false concept. Out of 32 possible positions of the main door only 8 are auspicious and these 8 are equitably distributed on four sides – North, South, East, and West.

Moreover, the entrances possible in the North East corner signify loss due to fire, lack of success and failure. Hence it is best to consult a qualified vastu expert to locate the main door position in the house irrespective of the direction of the house.

Avoid buying apartments with these Vastu Defects

Many a times when we are looking to buy an apartment we do not get enough opportunity to consult a vastu expert after we have found an apartment as per our needs. Sometimes we do not want to miss the opportunity and other times the owner or the broker forces us to take an immediate decision. 

Nevertheless, we should not end up buying an apartment which are non-correctable by vastu remedies.

In this article I give you three absolute NO when selecting an apartment to buy. To understand this stand in the center of the apartment with a compass in hand and familiarize yourself with the orientation and layout of the house.

Now look towards the North-East direction. You should not find any kitchen stove or toilet seat here. If so do not buy the house.

Look towards the South West direction and observe what is there. You should not find any kitchen stove or toilet seat here.

Look for the angular area between the South and South-West of the house. The main door of the house should not be here.

Once you have ascertained that none of these three defects are there you may go ahead and buy the house. The house may still have other vastu defects which can cause problems in life, but you can easily engage a MahaVastu consultant to get them rectified.

Case Study: Vastu Defect in North East: Effect on Residents

After my last post in this blog, I got a lot of queries over phone and WhatsApp asking whether North East effects are always so serious. I said, “No. It depends on the type of Vastu Defect.”

While Toilet Seat or a Kitchen stove in North East are the most severe vastu defects, there can be other defects which effect mental and physical health of the residents.

A friend of my visiting my office one day and said, “For some reason my daughter is suffering from headaches. The doctors have got the MRI done and have not been able to diagnose the cause of her pain. The MRI report is normal.”

When there are unexplained problems they can be due to vastu.

I asked him, “Is there a pink color painted in North East wall and few nails there?”

“My whole house is painted pink as our daughter likes that color. Since my wife is a painter we have several paintings put over nails. But I do not think there are nails in North-East.”

I knew that he has no idea  as to where the sun rises from so I asked him to locate the North-East with a compass and let me know if finds nails there.

Next day he was again sitting across the table saying that my observations were correct.

I asked him to remove the nails and her headaches will vanish. Few days later he informed that indeed they have vanished.

A vastu defect in the North-east invariably effects the mental or physical health of the inhabitants.
