MahaVastu Case Study: Engineering Re-Admission

Prabhat was preparing for the engineering entrance for the last two years. He had joined one of the best coaching institute and was faring with flying colors in the mock tests which the institute used to conduct periodically. In fact, all his teachers were sure that he will get through the IIT JEE entrance and will definitely get selected in state level engineering entrance examination. His father who is a Professor also tallied his marks after his IIT JEE Mains exams and was confident that he will sail through.

Prabhat and his family were in for a rude shock when the results of the IIT JEE Mains and the state engineering entrance were declared.  He had scored abysmally low marks in IIT JEE.

His father, Prakash called me from Indore and urged me to visit their house and do whatever, is possible to set things right for Prabhat’s engineering admission.  When I did a Vastu audit of their home, I realized that he has already appeared in both the examinations and so there was no scope to do anything about his performance in the exams.  The only way was to apply Mahavastu to increase his chances of selection in a reputed college and a preferable engineering stream.

I expressed my desire to talk to his son.

“You say that you were scoring very high in all the mock tests and still you got such low scores. What exactly do you thing is the reason for that?” I asked.

“Uncle, I did a blunder in both the tests,” he started to explain.

“What blunder?”

“I marked the answers in the question paper itself and towards the end when I was marking the answer sheets, I skipped a question and ended up marking the choice for previous question in the later ones till the end.”

“Something like, you marked the choice for Question 5 as a choice of Question 6 and so on and so forth for the full paper?”

“Yes. I did this in a full paper of IIT JEE and I now realize that for one of the papers I did this same mistake in one column in the answer sheet of State Entrance exams.”

I immediately focused on the zone of Clarity and was not surprised to find that Prabhat was sleeping there and its walls were painted light purple. The other hypothesis I worked was on was  that – now that the exams are over and result of one of the test is also declared, the only option is to aim for admission in a free seat in a government sponsored college. I was sure that he will in any case get admission on a paid seat in one of the hundreds of engineering college in the state. This is possible if they are able to focus with clarity on what best can be achieved in a situation and the father is able to utilize his social contacts to act surely and swiftly when push comes to shove. Hence I focused on east.

On close observations I found that in the zone of social association there was a loft in which some old dysfunctional electrical equipments were placed.

I immediately asked them to color the son’s bedroom with off-white or light blue color and clear the loft in east.

I also advised them to place a Ashoka Stambh in North-West.

While they were still waiting for the painter to start work, the results of the state level exams were out. Prabhat scored better in this than in IIT JEE. It was now sure that he will at least get admission in one of the paid seats in a private engineering college even if it means financial struggle for his father.

The whole family was anxious and in the first counseling session he got entitled for a free seat in a good private engineering college. They chose not to get him admitted there.

By the time re-coloring the bedroom walls was complete, three counseling sessions were over. Each counseling session drives you to your wits end. There are several options each with its own pros and cons. Sometimes the engineering branch you get is good but the college is not that good and sometimes the college is too far to your liking. The student and the parent have to make snap decisions based on the available opportunities. In the last session he got admission in Electronic Engineering in a government aided college about 200 kms away from Indore.

They were really ecstatic and were thanking me profusely. I knew that programming of space will yield the desired result and it had, they were able to make the right choice which was optimal – it was a free seat, it was in a reputed college, it was electronics engineering and it was not that far from Indore. Prabhat was admitted in Bhopal and started staying in the hostel. Prakash was able to find few Professors who were his ex-students which was a great confort to him and his wife.

Case closed. Results achieved.

With renewed vigor they went ahead with the changes and one weekend Prakash overcame his laziness and hoisted himself atop the loft to remove the old stuff there.

Just three days before the engineering admissions were to close, he was advised by his friends in authority that there is a small window of opportunity in one of the best college in Indore if can get the admission done in a day’s time. Now that Prabhat was already admitted in Bhopal the problem was that the admission has to be withdrawn in order to apply for admission in this college in Indore. This was a big risk as it may result in a situation where Prabhat ends up withdrawing from Bhopal and by the time he gets admitted in Indore, someone else with higher marks approaches the Indore college for admission. On the other side, the silver lining was reduced expenses if Prabhat does his engineering from Indore.

Prakash took the bait and after some anxious hours was successful in getting Prabhat admitted in Indore in a better college than in Bhopal and in Instrumentation Engineering.

For me this will always remain an experience to relish as with some very simple changes we were able to achieve great results.
